Tournament Rulebook

The full rules governing Fortnite Reload Showdown (25 Sep), 1v1 Tournament (1 Oct), and Creative Duos (3 Oct). By registering for any Storm Zone event, you agree to everything below.

1 Eligibility & account rules

Storm Zone tournaments are open to anyone with a valid Epic Games account and access to Fortnite, on any supported platform or via GeForce NOW.

Players under 18 may enter, but a parent or guardian must consent to their registration. Guardian name and email are collected as part of registration for any player who indicates they're under 18. Storm Zone may contact the guardian directly to confirm consent before a match if anything on the registration looks unclear.

One account, one entry, per event. Registering or playing on someone else's Epic account, or registering the same person twice under different names to bypass a player cap, results in disqualification for everyone involved — no exceptions, no warnings.

Storm Zone reserves the right to refuse or cancel any registration where the information provided appears false, incomplete, or intended to circumvent these rules.

2 Registration & payment

How registration works

Entry fees

Payment is processed via Yoco. Please make sure the amount shown at checkout matches the correct entry fee for the event you're registering for before you pay — if it doesn't match, do not proceed, and contact us in #tournament-support on Discord instead.

3 Prize pools & payouts

Each event has its own separate prize pool, calculated from that event's own entries. One event filling up or falling short does not affect any other event's prize money.

25 or more paid entries into an event: that event's prize pool is a guaranteed R500.

Fewer than 25 paid entries: the prize pool equals 100% of entries collected for that event (e.g. 15 paid entries = R300 pool). No Storm Zone cut is taken from an event's entries until that event's pool clears R500 — anything collected beyond R500 supports Storm Zone's running costs.

On Creative Duos specifically, each individual player counts as one entry toward the 25-entry threshold — a team paying R40 counts as two entries.

Payout split

The final prize pool total for each event is locked in and pinned in Discord once that event's registration closes — before the matches are played, so everyone knows exactly what's on the line going in.

How and when you get paid

4 Format-specific rules

Each event has its own structure. Read the section for the event you're entering.

Fortnite Reload Showdown

  • Solo queue, single match
  • Last player standing wins; placement decides all other payouts
  • 40 player cap
  • No reboot in solo — once you're eliminated, you're out for that match
  • No teaming with other players — teaming disqualifies everyone involved
  • Hosted via a private custom matchmaking key

1v1 Tournament

  • Single-elimination bracket, best of 3 per match
  • 64 player cap
  • Played on a Creative box-fight/build-fight island via island code
  • One untimed warm-up round before each Bo3 begins, doesn't count toward the result
  • You're responsible for coordinating match times with your opponent within the posted round deadlines

Creative Duos

  • Duo teams, single-elimination bracket
  • 16 team cap (32 players total)
  • Played on a Creative island via island code
  • Both teammates must be present and ready at your scheduled match time
  • Registered teams are locked once registration closes — no swapping teammates after that point

5 Match day, check-in & hosting

6 Disconnects & technical issues

Disconnects within the first 60 seconds of a match or round starting are reviewed case by case. Message a mod in #tournament-support immediately — before the match finishes, not after.

There is no guaranteed replay for disconnects after that 60-second window, given the size of some lobbies. A mod's ruling on any disconnect situation is final.

Technical issues on your own end (internet, hardware, platform outages) are your responsibility to resolve before match day. Storm Zone is not able to offer refunds for missed matches due to individual connectivity issues outside of the 60-second disconnect window above.

7 Fair play & code of conduct

Not allowed, ever

Breaking any of the above results in disqualification from the current event, forfeiture of any prize money, and may result in a ban from future Storm Zone events. Serious or repeated violations (harassment, cheating) may result in a permanent ban from the Storm Zone Discord and all future events, at Storm Zone's discretion.

8 Disputes & enforcement

9 Refund policy

Refunds are not given for:

If you believe you're owed a refund under the terms above, message a mod in #tournament-support with your registration details and the reason. Refunds are processed back to the original payment method where possible.

10 Contact & support

All support during registration and on match day happens through the Storm Zone Discord. Join if you haven't already — it's also where matchmaking keys, island codes, results, and prize payouts are announced.
